Karen R. Dixon, AFCA

The ability to creatively express herself through a variety of avenues has been essential throughout Karen’s life.

In her youth, Karen cultivated her love of artistic self expression through  dance and performing arts while on scholarship with the “Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede”, until she left Calgary to pursue her university degree in Interior Design.  Karen  spent over 30 years practicing interior design with a number of commercial architectural and interior design firms, eventually operating her own interior design consulting business before retiring to Kelowna, B.C. where she currently continues to create in her home studio. In addition, Karen also paints with 2 Kelowna Art Groups: The Kelowna Palette Club and the Mission Painters.

Karen has been showing and selling her art in a multitude of shows and exhibitions in Western Canada since 2010. She is an exhibiting member of both the Canadian Federation of Artists and the FCA Central Okanagan branch.

EDUCATION
1985 graduated from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Design with a Bachelor of Interior Design Degree.
